We're on I-135 near McPherson at the moment (white circle with small white dot near center of screen is our vehicle being tracked by the GPS feature on the GRLevel3 radar software). You can see thunderstorms breaking out not too far to our North.
This activity is not based at the surface (meaning that it is developing a few thousand feet above the surface level where there is more moisture and instability available in that region), and poses little severe threat (perhaps some marginal hail here or there). Fortunately it is occurring far enough East that it should not mess with the atmosphere further West.
We're still targeting Colby / Northwest Kansas at this time...
