More on Severe Storms in Hawaii This Morning...

In a post earlier today, I showed a severe thunderstorm on the Northeast end of the island of Oahu. This storm produced widespread hail up to golfball size, as shown in the photo below taken by Jason Akamine:

The same severe storm produced a large waterspout off of Lanikai:

...which is believed to have tracked inland and caused damage in the Lanikai and Enchanted Lake areas:

Here is a video of the actual waterspout as shown on Hawaii News Now:

Severe T-Storm Warning In....Hawaii???

Above is a radar image just taken from the Molokai, Hawaii radar site. You can see a severe thunderstorm on the Northeast end of the island of Oahu.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was recently issued on this storm, as noted by the red polygon.  The actual warning text is below:

Severe thunderstorms aren't unheard of in Hawaii, but it is a rather unusual time of the day for a severe storm over there (5am local time).  The radar has a strong hail signature associated with this storm, perhaps on the order of golfball size or larger!

Updated 3/9/12 at 8:55pm CST:  See this post for additional details on the aftermath of the above storm...
