The first Tornado Watch of the day has been issued. It is valid for much of Louisiana and southern Mississippi, until 8pm CST.
Thunderstorms are developing and becoming more organized over southern and central Louisiana:
Large hail and damaging winds are the greatest threats initially, with an increasing threat of tornadoes as the afternoon & evening wears-on.
Residents of this region should also keep in mind that additional rounds of severe storms are possible later this evening and tonight - even after the expiration time of this current watch (which is likely to be replaced later this evening into tonight).
