The above image shows the observed high temperatures across the Sooner State on Saturday. It was a scorcher indeed, with several stations exceeding 110 degrees!
Today will be no exception. Below are forecast high temperature maps for today for the Tulsa and Norman NWS forecast areas:
The last time Tulsa reached 110 degrees or more was on July 6, 1999. On that day, the high was a record setting 111 degrees. Some parts of the city are likely to reach that milestone this afternoon.
If you have outdoor plans anywhere across Oklahoma today, please try and get them done this morning. If you must be outdoors this afternoon, stay in the shade as much as possible. Be sure to wear lightly colored, loose fitting clothing and drink plenty of water.
