The above image was just taken from the Minneapolis area radar. Severe thunderstorms continue both to the immediate North and further off to the Southwest of the greater Minneapolis area at this time. Damaging winds and large hail are likely with this activity.
The severe storms to the immediate Northwest of Minneapolis are racing toward the Northeast at 55-60 mph. They could back-build further into especially the Northwest portion of the metro area during the next 30 minutes.
The activity over southwest Minnesota may directly impact the Minneapolis area later this evening. It is moving Northeast at 35-40 mph.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch continues across the region until 10pm CDT.
