As expected, a new Tornado Watch was issued at mid-morning, extending Eastward into Alabama and the Florida panhandle. It is valid until 5pm CST.
A line of strong to severe thunderstorms extends nearly North-South from central Alabama to the Florida panhandle at this hour:
Very heavy rainfall and flash flooding appear to be the greatest immediate threats with the Northern end of the line. Damaging wind gusts, hail and isolated tornadoes are possible mainly in association with the central and Southern end of the line over east-central and southeast Alabama into the Florida panhandle and eventually western Georgia later this afternoon.
If you live ahead of this activity, keep a close eye on the weather this afternoon and evening.
