Severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and large hail are located within the blue box on the above radar image and will pass immediately North of the city of Memphis between now and 10:15 PM CST.
The severe storms to the Southwest of Memphis (within the red circle) are moving East/Northeast at 55 mph and continue to show signs of rotation in addition to damaging wind and hail potential on radar. This activity could affect the Memphis area (and will certainly affect areas immediately South of Memphis) between 10:30 and 11pm CST.
In between, less intense thunderstorm activity is currently producing very heavy downpours of rain, gusty winds and small hail.
Folks in the greater Memphis area should remain alert as thunderstorm activity continues to affect the area through 11pm CST. Be prepared to seek shelter immediately if threatening weather is observed or a warning issued.
