Severe Weather Update - Midwest to Ohio Valley

The above radar composite shows widespread strong to severe thunderstorms that are currently underway across parts of the Midwest, Great Lakes & Ohio Valley Region.    Severe Thunderstorm (blue) and Tornado (red) watches are currently in effect for the areas on the image below:

Large hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes are possible with most any storm across this region this evening.  Widespread wind damage appears to be the highest threat, particularly with the activity that is presently taking place across southern Illinois and moving toward southern & central Indiana.  I would expect another watch to be issued Eastward into Indiana very soon.  Another widespread threat of wind damage will overspread lower Michigan this evening.

Most individual thunderstorms are moving North/Northeast, while the overall area of thunderstorms is moving slowly Eastward.  If you live in the path of this activity, remain alert this evening & be prepared to seek shelter if threatening weather approaches your area.
