Severe Weather Update for This Afternoon & Evening...

A few changes were made to the severe weather outlook for this afternoon & evening on the midday update from the SPC (as shown in the image above).  A small severe weather risk area was added in Mississippi and Alabama, ahead of the thunderstorm complex that I mentioned in my earlier post.  Severe storms are expected to redevelop along and ahead of this system this afternoon & evening.  A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was recently issued for this region, valid until 6pm CDT.

The small risk area over Colorado was also expanded slightly.  Thunderstorms are expected to develop across east-central and southeast Colorado later this afternoon & early this evening.  Large hail and damaging winds will be the primary threat in this region, with isolated tornadoes also possible.

Thunderstorms may also be able to break the cap and develop on at least an isolated to scattered basis across portions of western and central Oklahoma as well.  Large hail & damaging winds would be the primary threats with this activity (similar to what took place yesterday afternoon & evening).

Otherwise, see my earlier post for details regarding the most significant severe weather threat this afternoon & evening, across eastern Kansas and Missouri.

Shamrock, Sorry, been away from the computer for awhile. You should be fine tonight... higher chances of storms (but not necessarily severe) tomorrow and Sunday nights.
