TD-6 Likely to Become Tropical Storm Danielle Today

The above satellite image of Tropical Depression 6 was taken a few minutes ago.  The system is gradually becoming better organized...and is likely to become Tropical Storm Danielle later today.

As of 7am Central Time...the center of the depression was located 635 miles West/Southwest of the southernmost Cape Verde Islands.  It was moving West/Northwest at 9 mph.  Maximum sustained winds were 35 mph.

The system is forecast to continue a West/Northwest then Northwest motion out over the open Atlantic.  The expected development of a trough of low pressure across the eastern U.S. will play a critical role in the long term development & movement of the system as it approaches Bermuda next weekend.
