The above regional radar composite was taken just a few moments ago. As you can see, supercell thunderstorms continue on a rampage across the Southeast.
Below is a close-up image of the Jackson, MS radar, showing not 1, not 2, but 4 vigorously rotating supercells (noted by the purple circles):
There are a total of 14 tornado warnings in effect across the Southeast as of this writing (red outlined areas on the image below):
The latest Tornado Watch to be issued includes the Atlanta Metro area:
The latest report of significant tornadoes with damage in a more heavily populated area comes from the Tuscaloosa, Alabama area. More to come on that in a later post.
