The above Tornado Watches have just recently been issued, valid until 10pm this evening. The southern watch, over Oklahoma and the northern border counties of northcentral and northeast Texas, includes particularly strong wording due to the threat of significant tornadoes:
Oklahoma City and Wichita are both included in Tornado watches at this time. The dryline is currently located just West of both of those cities (actually its already advancing into the western suburbs of OKC at this time), so the threat of severe weather will only exist for the next 1-2 hours there (along the I-35 corridor) before the dryline moves East.
Tulsa, Ft. Smith, McAlester and Chanute will be "under the gun" throughout much of the afternoon & into this evening as thunderstorms form to the West and move Eastward.
