Tornado Watch Issued Western Oklahoma / NW Texas


The above Tornado Watch has just been issued for portions of northwest Texas and western Oklahoma. As you can see, thunderstorms are breaking out near the Texas/Oklahoma border (in both the Western and Southern portions of the watch area).

Very large hail, damaging winds and tornadoes are likely with severe storms in this region.  A few of the tornadoes could be strong and/or long tracked.  The watch is in effect until 9pm CST.

Another watch may be needed to the North of this one into southern Kansas and extreme northcentral Oklahoma later this afternoon.
